stanfordstudy isn't open yet. This site is one page and a waitlist, and the waitlist is the only thing that keeps anything about you.

What the waitlist keeps

• Your @stanford.edu email address.
• When you joined.
• Which of the page's two sign-up forms you used (the top or the bottom one).

Nothing else: no name, no password, no courses and nothing about your browser.

What it's for

Only to email you when stanfordstudy opens. Your address isn't sold, shared or used for anything else, and it isn't added to any other mailing list.

Where it's kept

In a Postgres database run by Neon, in the United States (Oregon). The site itself runs on Cloudflare, which handles every request to it.

How long it's kept

Until stanfordstudy opens and you've had that one email. Then the whole list is deleted. If stanfordstudy hasn't opened by September 30, 2027, the list is deleted then, without an email. You can have your address removed any time before that (below).

The email will be sent through an email service that receives the list to send it. Before it's sent, this page will name that service.

What passes through without being kept

• Your IP address is used to stop too many attempts from one network in a minute. The waitlist doesn't store it. Cloudflare sees it with each request, as any host does, but the site keeps no request logs: its only logs are the waitlist's own events (such as “an address was added from the top form”), which never contain your address or your IP.
• When the security check is on, it loads once you start typing in a sign-up form, not before. It's Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser in the background to tell people from bots; stanfordstudy doesn't receive or keep what it looks at. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• stanfordstudy sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ads or trackers.

Removing your address

Email hello@stanfordstudy.com from the address you signed up with, and it's deleted from the list.
